CARDS CARDS CARDS
In my freshman year of college I managed to get pretty into card games. As a kid I never even owned a deck of cards really, and only ever played solitaire on the computer. My family never really liked board/tile/card games for some reason, so I could never get any of them to play with me, and I gave up on them for the time being. But when I got to college, I found many people who liked playing cards! Some of my best memories from that year are sitting in the common room with my friend, flicking through radio channels and playing spit together :) (I always lose).
Recently, I've been watching tutorials and stuff specifically for single person card games (or solitaires) since I'm home, so I think I'll compile a list of ones I know and like!
- Klondike Solitaire
The classic! I find I prefer this with a real deck of cards; seeing the deck change order in 3 pickup is much easier to get. Also if things really suck you can cheat by putting the top card on the bottom. The pc never lets you cheat (awe). - Tri Peaks Solitaire
A favorite of mine! Easy to pick up, and has a very high win-rate. This is a good tutorial! - Pyramid Solitaire
I don't love this one, probably because I'm not super at mental math. I do like it enough on PC though! - Osmosis Solitaire
I vaugely understand this one, it is a completely new beast to me. I am yet to win (pretty sure the win rate is ~12.5%) maybe I'm missing something but I have enjoyed it. Here's the tutorial I followed. - Joker Jailbreak
I know I said I'm bad at mental math, but I put my woes aside for this game. It's so much fun! It's very winnable and I always feel so accomplished at the end. Here's the Tutorial!
